gameday notes (16/3/2024)

That was certainly a game of netball. Let's never speak of it again.

31 - 5. That was the scoreline for the win we had today. Jeez.

Coach is like 'that was a team that wants to go down a section' but the number of players I was convinced had never touched a netball before...

There were like three players who definitely knew what they were doing, three that were up there but a little slow on the uptake, and one that did basically nothing. How do you do nothing in netball???? I don't know. But she did it.

I need to stop being so negative. We won. Gotta, like... celebrate it or something.

Didn't much feel like celebrating though.

We definitely played well, though- everyone's doing great at the moment. Hard to tell when you're not coming up against quality opposition, but I'm hoping we'll get that in the near future.

Some positional changes, too- we had someone play as a shooter today, and she normally defends. It's pretty obvious from the way she moves- but she did great! Good on the lead, and can finish it off too :)

I played Centre, Wing Attack, then I was off.

I was going to play Centre again but I was hoping to swap so I could shoot. However, the 3 qtr time break is very short and everyone else was confused and going into random positions. I have no idea who was meant to be Goal Keeper, but I ended up there somehow.

That was weird. I haven't played Keeper in years. Too short.

Luckily, their shooter was my height so I had that to help me out. Still got called for Contact 3 times in the first minute, but from memory there may have only been one goal conceded. From then I kinda just guarded in the inner circle. She wouldn't shoot from so far out so I let her go a little. Is that something I'm meant to be doing or...?? Our Goal Defense actually plays that role consistently so that helped a lot too but hey at least we didn't somehow concede a million goals because I keep contacting dsghjaksl

But uh yeah

That was a game of netball.
